Counseling
When what you are facing calls for professional care, you do not have to search alone.
Faith-integrated mental health care
Some seasons call for more than prayer or coaching alone can provide, and that is not a sign of failure. Seeking professional counseling is often a wise and courageous step toward healing.
When counseling is the most appropriate next step, we are grateful to recommend Wellspring Holistic Counseling, the private practice of Sarah Rivera, RMHCI. As both a member of the Overflow family and the leader of our CARE Coaching Ministry, Sarah has a deep understanding of our church’s heart for caring for people while providing professional mental health counseling through her independent practice.
At Wellspring, Sarah integrates Christian faith with evidence-based counseling approaches, including EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and other clinically supported methods, to help individuals pursue healing in mind, body, and spirit.
Connected in mission, distinct in practice
Wellspring Holistic Counseling is an independent private counseling practice and is not a ministry or program of Overflow Church. Although Sarah meets with counseling clients on our church campus for convenience, all counseling services are provided solely through Wellspring Holistic Counseling and operate independently from the church.
Sarah serves as the leader of Overflow’s CARE Coaching Ministry, helping develop, equip, and support our volunteer CARE coaches while strengthening the church’s overall care ministry. Because of her professional expertise, biblical worldview, trusted leadership, and commitment to our church family, Overflow is confident recommending Wellspring when professional counseling is the most appropriate level of care.
We believe prayer, biblical community, coaching, and professional counseling each have an important role in a person’s healing journey. Sometimes someone begins with a CARE coach and is encouraged to pursue professional counseling. Other times, someone receiving counseling is encouraged to engage more deeply in the ongoing support, encouragement, accountability, and community of the local church. Rather than existing separately, these forms of care complement one another, helping people experience healing, growth, and spiritual maturity.
Our desire is simply to help each person receive the right care at the right time. While Sarah is equipped to support many individuals through Wellspring Holistic Counseling, there may be times when another provider, specialty, or level of care is better suited to a person’s unique needs. In those situations, she will gladly provide trusted referrals to qualified professionals to ensure each individual receives the most appropriate care.
Whether your next step is prayer, CARE coaching, professional counseling, or another specialized resource, our hope is that you experience the healing, hope, restoration, and abundant life that God desires for you. Wherever you begin, we are committed to walking alongside you and helping you take your next faithful step.
